Pepe and Miley Cyrus as Hannah Montana in concert 2006 - Chicago
Pepe with Miley and Tish Cyrus at Hannah Montana concert behind the scenes

Pepe worked with Miley Cyrus on her first Hannah Montana concert in 2006. He had a great time and the chance to see quite a bit of the country. He was often called "the Wig Man" since he was responsible for taking care of the blond wig that Miley wears as part of her Hannah Montana identity. Pepe appears with Miley in the behind the scenes video that displayed throughout Walmart 24/7 that year when the first Hannah Montana soundtrack album was released.

Venice, Italy

In April 2006, Pepe went to Venice Italy with Nova Era to shoot a video.

This was the infamous Pigeons in the Piazza scene during a break in shooting. Francesca and Maria Luisa Coppelli learned a lot about Venice - "La Serenissima" from her native son, Daniele Milanese. During the time of the Republic of Venice from the late 7th to the late 18th centuries, the wealth and power of Venice was based on her control of the sea. The influence of Venetian history and culture are reflected in many words which originated in Venice and still have currency today in English. Some of these words: arsenal, imbroglio, ciao, gazette, ghetto, gondola, lagoon, lido, lazareth, pantaloon, zero

The word zero came via French zéro from Venetian language zero, which (together with "cipher") came via Italian zefiro from Arabic safira = "it was empty", sifr = "zero", "nothing", which was used to translate Sanskrit sunya, meaning void or empty.

imbroglio - an entangling, an enwrapping - the Italian word imbroglio is borrowed from Vèneto (Venetian) brolio meant a garden, politicians in Venice used to meet in a garden to cement alliances, so to go 'in brolio' meant to become involved in political machinations.

The Venetian Ghetto was an area of Venice in which Jewish people were compelled to live during the Venetian Republic. The word “Ghetto” is an Italian word that derives from the Venetian word “Ghèto” (pronounced “get-oh”) which in turn comes from the Italian word “Getto” (pronounced “Je`t-toh” literally translated “Thrown” or “Poured”) from the verb “Gettare”. The term “Ghèto” referred to a small island which is today part of the Comune (Municipality) of Venice which had a “foundry” (the act of pouring liquid metals into a container or form is called in Venetian dialect “Ghèto” still used today when you go to see the glass pouring techniques).

The Venice Carnival (January 25 - February 5, 2008) During the ten days of Carnival preceding Mardi Gras, Venice is a hive of activity and entertainment, from improvised to highly choregraphed entertainment. A central theme is chosen each year, usually with an ironic or meta-cultural twist. The Piazza di San Marco is the pulsing heart of Carnival, with its huge stage, although events tkae place in other venues in the city. The mainstay of the Carnival are people in masks who romp and cavort throughout the streets and squares. Costumes run the gamut from traditional 18th century to the avant-garde modern. "Sensation: 6 sense for 6 sestieri" is the Carnival theme for 2008.
